Home Work challenge A5

Rimu is  a tree found in forests around New zealand. It has two name which one is Rimu and the other is Dacrydium cupressinum But thats its scientific name. Rimu is one of the canopy trees in the forest which means it usually is the tree that grows right up to the top. The Rimu tree has little olive green needles  that grow on it and its grey bark is quite flaky and sticks up off the tree. Its life span is about 800-900 years. it also grows up to about 50 meters high with a 2m diameter. They say that Rimu is a great use for furniture building and plywood. Rimu gum is used to stop wounds bleeding. This tree is all through out our forest at ngamuwahine and I hope one day you will be lucky enough to see this tree.
