Dear Santa,
This year I have been a good boy. The only naughty thing I did was set my sisters Barbie doll hair on fire. I would like a Transformers costume with Optimum Prime voice over.
I think I deserve it because I ate all my dinner I only threw it away once. I also learnt how to swim and write capital letters. It was also my first year at school this year.
I told Mum to put out some beer for you I will also leave some carrots for the deer. This year I plan to see you as well, I don't know if it will work but if it does I will be famous. Santa some people say your not real and sometimes it makes me upset are you real or not I have no clue. Merry christmas Santa if you want to call me back my number is 1234567
thank you a lot Travis.
Hi my name is Travis I live in Tauranga and I am 12 years old. My hobbies are sports hanging out with my friends and computers. My favourite subject at school is p.e.

A third world country is a country that is less wealthy than others. For example most of the ads on the World Vision try raise money for third world countries. Third world countries have nowhere near as much as we do. The type of things they would be happy with most of the time wouldn't even put a smile on our face such as fresh water food and a pen and paper. They have way less schools and opportunities than us. Sometimes we need to realize how lucky we actually are.

45 min research
Ring ding ding ding ding!!. Was the sound I heard most often, It was like a small axe with razor sharp teeth. The amount of depression that came through my mind when I heard the sound of one of my friends fall with a big crunch. I always wondered when my time was going to come. Let me tell the story of my life.
I started as a small seed inside whengous garden center in asia, I first set of on my journey when and old chinamen purchased me. The day I was purchased was also the day I was planted. He drove me up to Hineva forest I was really nervous because that was the main logging area

Driving down the high way all I could taste thick smoke as black as a pupil in a dark room steaming out the chimneys form the ancient factories in the distance. Slowly and sluggishly I found myself becoming closer and closer the smell of smoke lingered throughout my whole body it was like being stuck in a house full smoke on a hot summers day. sweat slipped down my face, at this point I was boiling, I was desperate to take my t-shirt off but the law wouldn't let me.

Problem
I've got some older friends ( I'm 13, they are 14/15) who have invited me to a party on saturday night at someones house. I'm pretty sure everyone there will be drinking, I've never had alcohol before I'm going to tell my parents I'm staying the night at my friends I'm quite nervous because I know it's bad what should I do.
You should tell your friends you want to come and say your going to bring your own beer pre buy your beer and fill it with water while your friends are poisoning there body you will be drinking fresh water. its a much better solution than lying to your parents aswell

The disco
Last night we had the Tauranga intermediate school disco. The theme you were meant to dress up in was courier but I couldn't get a costume together so I dressed up in normal clothes. Some of my favorite parts were how they play really cool music, how they had a foam machine that blew out heaps of foam, I also liked how I could see all of my friends. It was a really cool night and I really enjoyed it.

Subortal space flight
It has been very common in the last few years. A suborbital space craft fly's a lot higher than a normal aircraft. They can go up to 100 km high, it means they aren't totally in outer space but is high enough people on board wouldn't feel gravity. However the plane will not go high enough to orbit around earth. It is mainly for tourism so people can go into space. The tickets are cheaper than a rocket but still a lot. Sometimes the planes carry things to launch into space if they think its important enought to use space on the aircraft

Daniel Tammott
Daniel Tammot is an english man who suffers autism. But unlike much of the others Daniel has an unordinary talent. Daniel is an extreme mathematician and has an amazing memory. He was first found when he went to oxford and said 22 thousand numbers of pi, pi never ends and is infinite. Daniels math ability is cray the kind of thing he can do. If you told him your birthday and your year of birth he would know what your age what day your birthday was on to the year and what day you were born on. There is also another man named george finn who also has an extreme maths talent he can do the same thing with maths. Daniels talent is very odd its hardly ever found there are only 52 in the world. Daniels talent allows him to learn languages easy he learned the hardest one icelandic.

My experience of bullying
In my whole life time I've never really been bullied or hurt. But some of my friends have and most of them get very upset. There is this one sight called ask.fm and lots of young teenagers get asked terrible questions that can make people get very upset. I've seen questions telling people to self harm or kill themselves there are weird questions. Most of the people that ask crazy questions like that usually ask them on anon which doesn't show your name so basically no one knows who it is. Some people make up roomers just to make a whole big story. And some of my friends go on ask.fm often. In particular its girls that do it to girls in particular. Theres a couple of girls that are always involved usually teenagers about year nine or eight. You can deactivate your account and that means no one can ask you questions or anything. But then most girls have a facebook that have ask and get teased on that to.

something that annoys me
I play soccer and most of the rugby players call our sport a sport for sissy's. But I think its a very agressive sport to be honest I'd rather get get tackled than have a pair of sprigs coming right at my legs. I've actually played rugby before and the worst thing Injury I have got was probably a dead arm but then in soccer I've almost broke my ankle. Soccer is a very good sport and so is rugby but its very annoying when the rugby players call it sissy.

Something that annoys me
When people say the don't have enough food. I always get annoyed when people say they don't have enough food. I've been to south africa a number of times and I get so upset driving past the shacks which are basically houses made of tin. Seeing all the kids walking on the side of the road with ripped t shirts and no shoes. The kids over there get breakfast and dinner and those are the lucky ones. Some of them get absolutely no food even though the food is so cheap south africa have no doll which a lot of teenagers in new zealand go on. In south africa there are a lot more people in south africa than they're is in new zealand.

Mandarin
In class we have been learning a new language. Both of the year 8 classes in Rimu are learning sign language and Mandarin. We have been mixed into two groups between both classes I'm in Mandarin. I really enjoy mandarin and I can already say my phone is 5443833 off by heart without even looking at my book. I absolutely love mandarin and now I'm happy I can talk another language. Its a very easy language its got tone marks which show you how to say the word. There are hand signals pinyin and hanzi to they are all things to do with the language of mandarin.

Holidays
In the holidays I found out some sad news. On Wednesday in the second week I found out my dad was moving to Georgia near Russia. Georgia is a country around Russia it has more people than New Zealand and its a lot colder. An opportunity came up for my dad for a job over there. The job was the academy manager for the national rugby team. Dad applied for the job through his friend Milton. Milton moved over there a couple of years ago for the job of the head coach of the national rugby team over there. My dad only found out the day before he told me. I was really sad when he first told me. I was shocked to. I will really miss him. I hope he has a great time over there and I'm sure I will visit him a lot.
Five facts about georgia
1. The capital of georgia is T'blisi
3. They have the highest literacy percentage in the world
4. There flag is like England's but they have little crosses in between the red lines
5. They have their own language which is georgian

Term2 overview
Term2 was a great term filled with heaps of events and special memories. One of the best things in term 2 was camp camp was in week 1 strait after the holidays. We also had indoor football this term we did pretty well in fact we made it into the final but conceded a penalty in the minute to lose the game. My highlight was probably scoring the penalty to get us through to the final. My lowlight was losing in the final to rata. I have improved heaps on my schoolwork especially writing. My punctuation especially the basics still.

A computer game I have played. I have played a game called Fifa 13 on my I phone. Fifa 13 is a soccer game founded by ea sports. On Fifa 13 you can create an ultimate team play tournaments like barclays premier league MLS and much much more. It is an easy game to play you can play on Ps3 Xbox360 Computer and I phone. On the I phone theres a control pad which you use to make you're player run and on the left hand side it says when you're attacking Pass, shoot, skill move, and sprint. When you're defending it says ,sprint tackle, slide, and call 2nd defender. I like Fifa 13 as its such an easy game to play and i like the new features they have put into it.

I woke up ready but cold and pulled the duvets off. As I walked into the kitchen I saw Breakfast ready for me. Nutella on toast yum, I finished breakfast and put on my soccer gear. Ready to go i walked outside it was freezing frost all over the lawn. Knowing I hopped into the car. Me and dad drove to waipuna to were I was playing.
I walked out of the car and saw my team putting up the nets so I ran over to help them. Soon after the nets were up and we started with a small jog to warm up. 15 Minutes past and we were ready to start I was starting at right mid. Our team had a bad start and let them score in the first five minutes they scored the first goal. But the adrenaline set in with my team and we replied with a goal that I scored. After that the first half was pretty even with the score being 3-2 to us. The second half started and it was a bit of a quiet half. We got the ball i got it passed to me I took it up to the keeper and bet him shot and scored. It was so funny because there team tried to hand ball it out of the goal but failed. The end score was 4-2 it was a good game i really enjoyed it.

My different friend Kyle
Ok I have this friend calls kyle he is a unique person to everyone else I know. He always has a weird face to pull and he always is laughing. Kyle is very smart in class but out of class he can be a bit of a doof. something kyle would do is go outside and see someone with a big head and strait away he would say look at that guys big as head its huge. Hes in my soccer team and he is very good but still at soccer he plays up on saturdays at soccer kyle always has something to say to the ref like he yells at him or gives him a sigh. He has brown hair with little blonde streaks that he put in last year. He is very alike with his dad my soccer coach there both really loud and always making jokes. he has very big eyes like an owl and his hair is brushed to the side every minute of the day. Kyle is a great friend to have he's so hilarious theres not a day where i dont laugh at him. Hes such an awesome guy to be around. One thing thats so awesome about him is that he wouldn't even care that im writing this about him right now. Oh i almost forgot he is very very cheeky. He is very cool and i hope he stays the same way for a long long time.

7 days or not
On the 27th of April 2006. We set off on a journey like no other. Our journey that we did not know what was ahead for the next few days.
The dirty cracked roads where shattering as we drove all we had was a two black chests one filled with water and food one filled with clothes. Our journey we thought would take us to the mud flats in Australia. The mudflats we where looking for where an hour drive out of Tasmania. Just finished the packing I drove to Antons to pick him up. I rung the neighbors and asked them to feed bruce for the next week. I got to his house the sun was in the sky the birds were flying and there was not a gust of wind to be seen. We set off through Tasmania we kept driving. We where a while outside of tasmania now I presumed there was only 45 mins to go. " So Greg mate hows the weather looking for the next few day?" " I looked on weathernet.com and they say it will be over 30 everyday dont worry I've got enough water to last us."
At last we where here in the mudflats " Oh aren't they beautiful Anton said suprisingly" " I always actually thought they where dusty and yuck." We kept on driving and driving until I remembered. " Anton I forgot to get extra fuel the next gas station is back in tasmania 1 hour away from the gate of the mudflats." Well what are we going to do we've been driving for two hours in the mudflats now how much petrol do we have." Anton we dont have much at all" It was all very quiet from then i think we were both just waiting for the car to stop. "Greg do you think we will make it out of here alive" Theres only one person that knows that and sadly thats not me." I closely watched watched as i saw a tear come out of Antons eye.
I kept on driving and the fuel was getting lower and lower. I could feel my heart beat like the boston marathon bombs. I was getting more nervous bye the second. Every kilometer I drove my heart

Heart rate is how many times your heart beats per amount of time. the normal heart rate for a child our age is about 70 bpm ( beats per minute). when you exercise you're heart beat increases in beats and when you rest it goes down. there are heaps of different ways to get your heart rate some of them are you get you're two fingers and put them on your rist and count how many per minute you can also do that but put it on the side of your neck. A pulse is very important its a matter of life and death if you have no pulse you have no life.

Yesterday the satellite class at our school moved in to the temporary classrooms in front of us. They have moved in because a couple of weeks ago there was a fire in their old room. The satellite class is different to all the other classes at our school because they need a little bit more help. Yesterday we got the chance to walk through all of their rooms. They have three small classrooms and there a two students in each one. They also have a main classroom where all the kids like to hang out and play. All of the students are different in their own ways but they are all really cool. One of the boys named Bobby gave us a tour of their place. I think its really cool to have a classroom like them infront of us and I hope they feel welcome in their new classroom and I hope they feel safe and happy with our two Rimu year 8 classes next to them.

4. teenage pregnancy. New Zealand is the second highest teenage pregnancy rate in oecd countrys
5. young crime. 31% of New Zealand boys go to court before their 25th birthday.
I think that all this is crazy especially the teenage pregnancy and New Zealand being one of the highest.

The Moa
The moa is a original bird from New Zealand. The moa is a very big bird with a big sharp beak. But this bird is flightless. Its body kind of looks like an emu. It ranged from a height of 3.6 metres and weighed 230 kg. This bird was a very dangerous bird the power of it is so strong it could tear through you easily. The Moa came extinct because of how big they were and flightless. They were easy to catch because of being flightless. The Maoris used to eat them and they came extinct I think the moa is a really unique and cool bird because of its beak and huge body.

science discovery
The earliest known time of a working telescope was in the Netherlands bye two men named Hans Lipperseyand and Zaharias janssen. They first created it in 1608 it was a version thats not as flash as they are today but it still worked. The Telescope is very important thing to have for astronomers because it gives you a good view of space and can look way up in to the sky. Telescopes have found a lot of different planets. I think they are very useful you can use them for other things like looking at your friends down the road or looking at planes in the sky

Science Experiment
In year four at primary school I remember doing a science experiment. The science experiment we did was the baking soda and vinegar volcanon in the sand pit. I remember Making a volcano out of sand and putting a tunnel down the middle. We then put baking soda down the middle. After the teacher told us to watch as he poured in the vinegar, Suddenly a big rush of white foam came flying up the top. when the vinegar hits the baking soda a reaction is caused and it creates foam

Scott wins masters-international
Adam Scott has become the first Australian to win the US Masters. After a great last round finishing nine under par. Scott had to play a playoff with Angel Cabrera they both birdied the 18th hole to force the play off. On the first play off hole both of them scored the same, but it was a birdie on the second play off hole that gave Scott the title. I am quite happy that Scott was the first Australian to win with his caddy being Steve Williams a New Zealander.

Michael Clarke named the worlds best cricketer
Australia's cricketer Michael Clarke has been named wisdens leading cricketer of 2012. This is the third time an Australian has received this award. After Shane Warne 2004 and Ricky Ponting 2009. Last year Clarke scored 1595 in the season last year. Including four double centuries averaging 106.33. I think Michael Clarke really deserves this award because he is a great cricketer and I hope his good batting continues through the season this year.

News Post -International
A South African man floated 8 kilometers up in the sky with only 200 helium balloons. Matt Silver Vallance was raising money for the new hospital being built in Johannesburg. When he was travelling he flew past shark infested waters and close to a very busy airport. He landed safely and said he was very happy to get back on his feet. I think that this was a bit crazy but a good thing to do for a good foundation.

Home Work challenge A5
Rimu is a tree found in forests around New zealand. It has two name which one is Rimu and the other is Dacrydium cupressinum But thats its scientific name. Rimu is one of the canopy trees in the forest which means it usually is the tree that grows right up to the top. The Rimu tree has little olive green needles that grow on it and its grey bark is quite flaky and sticks up off the tree. Its life span is about 800-900 years. it also grows up to about 50 meters high with a 2m diameter. They say that Rimu is a great use for furniture building and plywood. Rimu gum is used to stop wounds bleeding. This tree is all through out our forest at ngamuwahine and I hope one day you will be lucky enough to see this tree.

Swimming Sports
At swimming sports I didn't swim because the day before I injured my wrist playing cricket at p.e. So I spent the day helping out. I mostly gave out popsicle sticks for people that placed first. The color of the sticks I gave out were red. The red ones meant first place lots of people in my classroom placed first. I think my classroom are definitely the best swimmers as we came first in the class relay and first overall. But all of my house a great swimmers but my class is the best.
