7 days or not

On the 27th of April 2006. We set off on a journey like no other. Our journey that we  did not know what was ahead for the next few days.

The dirty cracked roads where shattering as we drove all we had was a two black chests one filled with water and food one filled with clothes. Our journey we thought would take us to the mud flats in Australia. The mudflats we where looking for where an hour drive out of Tasmania. Just finished the packing I drove to Antons to pick him up. I rung the neighbors and asked them to feed bruce for the next week. I got to his house the sun was in the sky the birds were flying and there was not a gust of wind to be seen. We set off through Tasmania we kept driving. We where a while outside of tasmania now I presumed there was only 45 mins to go. " So Greg mate hows the weather looking for the next few day?" " I looked on weathernet.com and they say it will be over 30 everyday dont worry I've got enough water to last us."

At last we where here in the mudflats " Oh aren't they beautiful Anton said suprisingly" " I always actually thought they where dusty and yuck." We kept on driving and driving until I remembered. " Anton I forgot to get extra fuel the next gas station is back in tasmania 1 hour away from the gate of the mudflats." Well what are we going to do we've been driving for two hours in the mudflats now how much petrol do we have." Anton we dont have much at all" It was all very quiet from then i think we were both just waiting for the car to stop. "Greg do you think we will make it out of here alive" Theres only one person that knows that and sadly thats not me."  I closely watched watched as i saw a tear come out of Antons eye.

I kept on driving and the fuel was getting lower and lower. I could feel my heart beat like the boston marathon bombs. I was getting more nervous bye the second.  Every kilometer I drove my heart

  1. Love the simile at the end. I could imagine what you heart beat was lie. I made a connection to a book called "Holes" when I saw your image. I really like this sentence start, 'The dirty cracked roads where shattering'.
